We are excited to announce that preparations for the upcoming Little League season are in full swing! Below are some important updates and dates to mark on your calendar as we gear up for another successful season of baseball and softball.
Upcoming Dates to Remember:
- Early Bird Registration Period: Now - January 18, 2025.
- Last day to register: January 31, 2025.
- Coaches Meeting: February 3, 2025, time and location to be determined.
- Tryouts: Tryouts for both Baseball and Softball will be February 5, 2025, time and location to be determined.
- Draft: February 9, 2025 time and location to be determined.
- Opening Day: Mark your calendars for an exciting season kickoff! Season set to open March 1, 2025.
With the season approaching, we’re excited to share opportunities for volunteers to get involved and make a difference in our Little League community. We are always looking for community members to join in making this season great. Whether as a coach, team parent, or sponsor, your support means everything to our players. On Monday, October 28, 2024, Little League held elections for a new board. We are thrilled to introduce our new board who will lead us this season.

David Alonzo Sanchez serves as the President.
D. Alonzo Sanchez has served on the board since 2021. With
17 years of experience coaching baseball and softball,
including 6 in Uvalde, his dedication to the sport is evident.
Notably, he assumed the role of Baseball All-Star Manager forthe 2023, 9-11 age division, achieving success in his debut by
guiding the team to victory in the championship’s first round
and securing advancement to sectionals.
As president, Sanchez plays a pivotal role in providing
strategic direction and oversight to the league. He is
responsible for ensuring that the organization operates
efficiently, remains financially stable, and continues to deliver
high-quality experiences for players, coaches, and families.
Sanchez and the board are dedicated to enhancing the sports
complex and implementing much-needed upgrades.
Beyond coaching, Sanchez is a driving force behind the TercosTravel Baseball team, of which he co-founded. The team’s
purpose is clear: to nurture player development and readinessfor higher levels of competition. His leadership resulted in
numerous championship victories for the team.
Sanchez’s passion for coaching extends to both baseball and
softball, and he remains steadfast in his commitment to
fostering a robust community of ball players in Uvalde,
ensuring a bright future for the sport in the region.
Sanchez is a true champion of Little League, embodying the
spirit of servant leadership and dedication to youth
empowerment. He is proud to be the leader of a remarkable
and diligent board.
Juaquin Camacho serves as the Vice President and Coach Coordinator for Baseball. Juaquin has experience in coaching and a passion for both baseball and softball. He is dedicated to supporting players and helping them develop their skills while fostering a love for the game. In his role as Vice President, Juaquin oversees the coordination and advancement of all facets within the competitive divisions of baseball. This includes planning, organizing, and overseeing all baseball related tryouts, such as those held at the beginning of the season and any All-Star tryouts.
David Zamora, Jr. serves as the Vice President & Coach Coordinator for Softball. Born and raised in Uvalde, David is heavily involved with the community. With a background in playing and coaching youth sports for many years, he is passionate about creating a positive and safe environment where young athletes can develop their skills, learn teamwork, and have fun. Outside of Little League, he is a coach for the Uvalde Lady Lobos softball travel team, co-founded alongside Emilio Fernandez, demonstrating his dedication to the youth in our community. He is also involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as a mentor. In his role as Vice President, David oversees the coordination and advancement of all facets within the competitive divisions of softball. This includes planning, organizing, and overseeing all softball related tryouts, such as those held at the beginning of the season and any All-Star tryouts.
Emilio Fernandez, Jr. serves as the Baseball Player Agent. Hailing from Uvalde, Texas, Emilio has dedicated countless volunteer hours to the League. Emilio has eight years of coaching experience in Uvalde Little League. As Baseball Player Agent, Emilio is responsible for conducting player tryouts, overseeing player conduct, and facilitating the draft process to ensure fair and competitive team assignments. Emilio participated in Uvalde Little League from the Minors Division to the Junior/Senior Division as a player, helping him bring a deep understanding of the game to his coaching role. Outside of his involvement in Uvalde Little League, Emilio manages the Uvalde Lady Lobos Softball travel team, further demonstrating his commitment to youth sports development. He remains steadfast in his dedication to fostering the growth and success of the youth in our community, ensuring they have not only a memorable season but many more to come.
Lauren Morgan serves as the Softball Player Agent.
Lauren has three children who will all be
participating in Little League this season, her
husband, Nathan, is also actively involved.
As a family, they have a deep love for both baseball
and softball, and are excited to contribute to the
success of the league. She looks forward to a fantastic
season and can’t wait to see players grow both on and off the field.
As Softball Player Agent, Lauren is responsible for
conducting player tryouts, overseeing player conduct,and facilitating the draft process to ensure fair and
competitive team assignments.
Jerrell Baker serves as the Treasurer.
Jerrell has a strong background in finance and a
passion for youth development. Originally from
California, Jerrell has lived in Uvalde for almost 15
years and has grown to love our small town. Jerrell
brings invaluable skills and commitment to the
league.
As Treasurer, Jerrell is responsible for overseeing theleague’s financial activities, including budgeting,
financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with
financial regulations and policies.
Beyond Little League, Jerrell is a dedicated father of
three children, ages 16 to 1. He has actively coached
each of them and is currently coaching his sons Little
League team.
Beyond his own family, Jerrell extends his passion
for nurturing youth to the wider community. He
tirelessly works to improve the lives of children, both
within and beyond the sports field.
Amber Arthur serves the Non-Competitive Divisions
Coordinator.
A Uvalde native and mother of one, Amber is
dedicated and passionate to serve as your Little
League board member. With years of experience in
the sport, Amber is committed in creating a positive
and inclusive environment for all players, help
support coaches, and execute a vision that will build
on our foundation.
As the Non-Competitive Divisions Coordinator Amber oversees the league’s T-ball, Baseball Coach Pitch and Softball Coach Pitch programs. She ensures that
young players and their families have a positive and
engaging introduction to baseball and softball while
promoting skill development, teamwork, and
sportsmanship in a fun, low-pressure environment.
Sorayda Arellano Sanchez serves as the Secretary.
Sorayda a proud native of Uvalde, is deeply
committed to her community. Engaged in multiple
boards and a passionate volunteer, she tirelessly
contributes to the betterment of her hometown.
She has served a member of Uvalde Little League
since 2021, initially as a general board member and
later as secretary since 2023.
As secretary, Sorayda maintains accurate records of
board meetings, handles correspondence, and ensures
the administrative functions of the league run
smoothly.
In addition to her role on the board, Sorayda is
actively involved in fostering a positive and inclusive
environment for players, coaches, and families
involved in the league.
She is often found on the sidelines cheering on players,volunteering at events, and contributing to the overall
success of the league.
Steven Mena serves as the Safety Officer.
Steven has been actively involved in Little League for many years and in many capacities, as a player, as a
coach and as a board member.
Outside of his involvement in Uvalde Little League,
Steven is an accomplished hunter and an avid
fisherman, as well as a dedicated community
supporter.
With 5 children currently participating in the league,
Steven can be found at the ballpark on any given day.As Safety Officer, Steven plays a pivotal role in
developing and implementing safety protocols and
procedures to protect players, coaches, and
spectators.
Steven works closely with league officials, coaches,
and volunteers to ensure compliance with safety
regulations and best practices, covering areas such as
equipment standards, field maintenance, and
emergency preparedness.
Delia Trevino serves as Umpire in Chief & Equipment Manager.
Delia is a proud Uvalde native and a dedicated
mother of three with a lifelong passion for sports,
both as a player and an enthusiastic supporter. Her
love for the game and commitment to youth
development inspire her involvement in the
community.
As the Umpire-in-Chief (UIC), Delia oversees all
aspects of umpiring within the league, ensuring that
games are officiated consistently, fairly, and in
alignment with Little League rules and regulations.
She is responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating,and supporting umpires while serving as the primary liaison between the league and its umpiring staff.
Alicia Coronado serves as Concession Manager.
Alicia is a devoted wife, proud mother to five, and a
passionate supporter of youth sports. She owns a
thriving local business, showcasing her strong work
ethic and commitment to the community.
As Concession Stand Director, Alicia oversees all
aspects of concession stand operations, ensuring that
it runs smoothly and efficiently during games and
events. She is responsible for managing inventory,
coordinating volunteers, and providing quality food
and beverages to players and spectators. Not to
mention, ensuring we never run out of pickle pops.
